CARING/WASHING  STORING/TIPS
SILK

When silk is washed, the fibre “relaxes”, which can cause shrinkage. However, the garment can return to its normal size and shape if lightly steamed or carefully ironed on a very low temperature.

When washing use a liquid detergent without enzymes or a gentle shampoo, detergent with enzymes might create small holes in the fabric, and reduce shine and softness. Wash by hand in lukewarm water without soaking, rinse without wringing, then blot with a towel.

If you choose to use a machine, use the gentle cycle, a low spin and a small amount of detergent. A mesh bag can help protect silk garments from snagging or twisting too much. Do not tumble dry, ever.

To dry, leave your garments on a towel.

Hang your silks on a padded hanger and avoid direct sunlight.

Avoid to spray perfume directly on the garment as it can leave stains

Don’t wash your silks too often, make it a habit to ventilate your silk garments after use
VISCOSE

Viscose have a tendency to grow when worn, however it goes back after washing. If you have shrunk you viscose garments you can always steam or iron it back to its original size.

Dry the heavier garments on a towel.

Store your Viscose garments hanging on a padded hanger.

COTTON

Cotton products tend to shrink when washed, steam or iron them after wash or between the uses to make them regain their original shape as much as possible.

Cotton is durable and can be hand or machine-washed in high temperatures, but never over 60°.  To keep them looking their best for longer wash at 30°.  Do not tumble dry as heat can damage the fibers and cause shrinkage.

Store your cotton garments folded flat, if hang your garments it can stretch or get the shape of the hanger.

Stains can be pre-treated before washing by dabbing a small amount of stain remover on the area, however it’s best to patch test on an inside seam to check the dye won’t be affected. 

WOOL

Don’t wash wool garments after each use – hang to ventilate them instead, the natural protective coating of wool fibers makes it resistant to dirt and dust.

Use a gentle detergent as the alkaline solutions in detergents can affect the dye in wool and also weaken the fibers. Hand wash or use a gentle machine cycle at 30°C or less, if optional use wool wash program.  

Dry knitted woolens flat on a towel to prevent them from stretching out of shape.

Friction but can be easily removed with a pilling comb or a fabric shaver.

Do not hang your wool garments as it can stretch and get the shape of the hanger.

Store your woolens folded and flat in a sealed bag. 

CASHMERE WOOL

Ventilate your cashmere garments after every use.

When washing, use a small amount of delicate detergent or shampoo on a gentle machine cycle at a low temperature and low spin. When hand washing let it soak in cool water with baby shampoo for a couple of minutes, agitate the garment gently when washing. Rinse with cool water and squeeze out excess water gently, do not twist.

Flat dry on a towel, avoid sunlight and direct heat.

Store your garments folded in a sealable plastic bag to avoid the clothes moth to destroy your garments. Do not hang your cashmere garments.

Cashmere and woolens are unavoidable to pill.  Remove the pills after washing with a clothing brush, a sweater stone or a fabric shaver, in time this will strengthen the fibers and lead to less pilling.

MERINO WOOL

There’s no need to wash merino wool after every wear.

Merino wool should not be machine-washed as it will bleed and shrink and can get small holes from machine use. Always use a washing bag to avoid damage, if you choose machine wash, choose a gentle machine cycle on a low spin, 30°C or lower. The best is to hand wash it in cool water or leave it to a dry cleaner.  

Instead of washing ventilate your merino wool garments after every use, use textile spray or a steamer to fresh up your garments. Always follow the specific instructions on the garments care label.

You should store your merino wool garments folded laying flat. Don’t
hang your garments, as it tends to stretch or get the shape of the hanger.

LYOCELL

Lyocell can be machine-washed, always follow the specific instructions on the garments’ care label.

Store your Lyocell garments hanging on a padded hanger and avoid direct sunlight.

POLYESTER

Polyester is often durable and can be washed and ironed on higher temperatures, always follow the specific instructions on the garments’ care instructions label.

Store your polyester garments on a padded hanger.

LINEN

Linen can be machine washed, but always follow the specific instructions on the garments’ care label. Linen becomes smoother and softer after washing.

Do not tumble dry linen due to its construction it can be damaged. Flat dry for best result.

Store your Modal garments folded laying flat, as it can stretch out.

MODAL

Modal should be washed on low temperatures to not loose its shape. Modal garments can be tumble-dried, but not preferred.

Returns: 

  1. Fill out the return form and send us an email informing about your return to info@arethe.se
  2. Place the item/items that you want to return in the original other packaging
  3. Make your return at your nearest postal office or return it for free at our shop in Stockholm within 14 days

After receiving your return we will send you a confirmation email. If all parts of our return policy are fulfilled, you will be refunded the amount of the purchase to your credit card, please note that shipping fee is not refundable. Buyer is responsible for the item until we have received it.

Exchanges:

  1.  Fill out the exchange form and send us back the item in its original packaging within 14 days, or leave it at our store
  2. Send us an email with the wanted size or colour so we can reserv the item for you
  3. We will send the new item as soon as we ge the original order reaches us

  • Returns/exchanges must be made within 14 days upon reception

Unclaimed packages: 

  • All unclaimed packages will be returned to us. All fees associated with the return of the unclaimed package will be charged to the customer
